EAST BEACH STUDIOS - an invitation to take a tour of Barrow's new professional recording studio - OPENING APRIL 2010



The start of April sees the opening of a unique and much needed resource in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria.



East Beach Studios is a new recording and music production studio situated in the heart of Barrow at Victoria Hall, Rawlinson Street. The studios offer professional recording, production, mixing and mastering for all forms of classical and contemporary music, in a modern and relaxed studio space.



The facility allows the complete recording, creative music production, mixing and final mastering for release of an artist's work to be undertaken with the expert assistance of established music industry professionals for the first time in the area. This is surprisingly the first and only music studio of this kind in the town.



Local professional music producer and recording artist, Graham Newby is the driving force behind the project, which aims to bring creative and career opportunities to an area brimming with frustrated musical talent, but lacking in the resources to develop that talent and ambition.



Graham has spent the last 17 years producing and remixing music professionally for clients and all over the world including internationally recognised artists Usher, Shaun Ryder, Mobb Deep, KRS One, and Stephen Jones (Babybird) and has become a respected and critically acclaimed recording artist in his own right with releases for a variety of independent record labels in the UK, USA, across Europe, and Australia.



As Graham's in-house production company, East Beach Studios has provided studio engineering and mixing work for local artist, AIM, on remixes for renowned acts such as Texas, Ian Brown, St. Etienne and Travis.



Graham has also produced original music for a variety of film, TV and multimedia projects for clients such as Nike, Kodak, The BBC and Channel 4, as well as working with and receiving personal accolades from music industry luminaries such as Sir Paul McCartney, and multiple Grammy award winning producers, Louie Vega and Roger Sanchez.



The studios are equipped with the latest in high-end, industry-standard digital recording and conversion technology, combined with traditional analog and vintage tube recording, mixing and processing equipment.



As well as offering services for local artists and continuing to provide music for the professional music industry, East Beach Studios are looking for project partners, sponsors and interested parties from across other sectors to help use, establish and develop this valuable new resource.



Interested parties and organisation could benefit from working or educational sessions in a fully equipped professional recording studio, an opportunity unavailable locally until now.



Educational establishments could benefit from involvement and experience in the fields of music technology, studio engineering, mix and production engineering, creative recording and music production, and creative writing and arranging across contemporary musical styles - all within a real-world working studio environment.



Clients are invited to work on their own musical projects, create new projects in conjunction with professional recording artists and producers, or attain invaluable hands-on experience working alongside professional music producers and musicians on third party projects for the wider music industry.



The studio also offers artists and musicians a comfortable and safe environment to rehearse whilst preparing for live shows or a recording session.



East Beach Studios are also looking for sponsorship for several forthcoming projects involving the recording and development of local musicians, and the development of careers within the music industry, either as an artist or within the technical and production fields.
